唱歌無可否認對學英文是有幫助，尤其是學好英文發音，但是比起用聽的，唱英文歌的難度又較高了。雖然唱歌學英文發音是有效的方法，但是除非對唱英文歌有很大的興趣，否則想要用唱歌達到學英文的目的可能也很難。
唱英文歌的好處最起碼可以矯正英文的咬字並學好正確的英文發音和熟悉英文的連音，有助於日後學英語口語。如果想要說英語不要咬到舌頭或亂噴口水，閒來沒事可以常常唱英文歌訓練舌頭在說英語時的靈活度，同時學習正確的英語發音，日後在進行英語會話時一定會說得更流利。
雖然有人說唱英文歌比唱中文歌容易，但在實際唱過後會發現並不完全如此。這或許是因為我們說英語的機會不夠多，而使得唱英文歌時舌頭似乎轉不過來，而且光要了解英文歌詞的涵義也要花上不少時間，還有最重要的一點是，講中文的人本身的英語腔調並不夠道地，使得唱英文歌時並不怎麼順耳，這些都是要透過實際唱歌練習去修正以求進步。
練習唱英文歌要特別注意歌詞的連音
一般要練習唱歌都少不了重複的聽同首歌，要練習唱英文歌時更是如此，主要是因為英文歌和中文歌的音調起伏較不同，且幾乎所有的英文歌都有「連音」，這就是在聽英文歌時要特別注意的地方，手邊有歌詞記得拿出來看。
另外，如果有動態歌詞更好。如果要練的是英文饒舌歌就更加的麻煩，光是那多到爆的歌詞就令人頭痛，更別說你的舌頭轉不轉得過來，像唱Eminem的歌就是一種挑戰，你唱得好，在此真的要豎起大拇指，有機會不仿挑戰看看。
如果要更有效率的記住英文歌詞，建議在聽過一兩遍歌曲後自己念一念歌詞，效果會更佳，英文饒舌歌更要如此，藉此熟悉舌頭的活動，至於歌喉就看各位的功力囉！
瘋狂地練唱英文饒舌歌學英文單字的咬字發音
訓練唱英文歌主要是要學習英文單字的咬字發音及英文的道地腔調。如果你的英文發音不標準，那唱出來的英文歌肯定沒人敢聽。在這樣的前提之下，你勢必會慢慢矯正自己的英文發音，所以當你唱了數十首風格不同的英文歌曲後，你會發現自己的咬字越來越清楚，你也會同時發現自己英文發音的腔調會比較趨向道地，這是因為長時間處在英語環境，而連帶使整個發音能力變好，和出國留學的原理是一樣的。
如果你覺得一首一首唱太慢了，想在更短的時間內更快地提升英文發音能力，那強烈建議你瘋狂地練英文饒舌歌，或許剛開始唱，甚至念歌詞舌頭都會打結，但只要多唱幾首英文歌，英文單字的咬字發音和整體的英文發音品質絕對三級跳，雖然很辛苦，但一來可學會唱英文饒舌歌，二來又可提升英文發音品質，可謂一舉兩得。
另外，英文搖滾歌曲也是不錯的選擇，練習「用英文吼著唱歌」對英文發音也是有幫助的，像是Linkin Park就是一個代表。但還是建議初學者先練唱抒情歌，畢竟在所有類別裡，它所需要的技巧可說是最輕鬆、最簡單的，且其風格較類似華語歌，適應較容易。
唱歌可以學到很多學校英文課沒教的課外英文
或許你會質疑唱英文歌學英文發音有沒有效，但我的英文發音都是靠唱英文歌唱出來的。有人問我，我的英文發音如此標準是不是有去英語系國家遊學過，但當我回答沒有而是靠唱英文歌時，每個人都露出不可置信的表情。
去留學後之所以發音會標準是因為每天你必須每天和許多外國人交談(說)並聆聽他人(聽)的話，在這種全英語的環境之下英語發音自然標準。雖然我們的生活無法打造這種全英語的環境，但我建議你平常沒事的話就朗誦歌詞(像念詩一樣，我就是常常這樣瘋狂地練習的，這動作將相當於「說」)，並多聽ICRT 英文廣播、或線上收聽BBC 的英語音樂頻道(相當於「聽」，我也是這樣有事沒事地聽來的)，相信你唱英文歌的功力會大有進步。
寫到這裡寫了一大堆主要是要告訴您，唱英文歌也是可以練習英文發音，是學英文正確發音的另類方法，而且藉由英文歌的歌詞，你還可以學習到英文的翻譯及為自己多增加一些學校英文課沒教的英文單字。
